Ever since then, I have been looking for something of my own I could paint this color.

Enter stage left, a random trip to Goodwill and the discovery of this mirror. Clearly homemade by someone, it was not much of a looker. But it was only $5. So it came home with me.
After sanding it down to discover the white underneath, it almost stayed that way. But that antique blue paint was calling to me.

Isn't she a beaut? Of course, I could never leave it looking so polished and perfect - sanding and a little beating was needed to achieve that worn and weathered look. I had to make it look legit.
I really should get a close-up detail shot of the distressing but it's dark out. So just scroll back up to the chest in the first picture and imagine that look all over the mirror. Great job using your imagination!
