Passing Time

Time will certainly pass anyway. It's all a matter of how we choose to spend it - how do you spend yours? In college, my friend and I came across this quote and it's certainly driven me, in a sense that I don't want to settle in life for this -

"Normal is getting dressed in clothes that you buy for work,
driving through traffic in a car that you are still paying for,
in order to get to a job that you need so you can pay for the clothes,
car and the house that you leave empty all day in order to afford to live in it."
(Ellen Goodman)

That's definitely NOT how I want to spend my time, but it is one way to let time pass you by. I'm fairly sure getting bogged down in the rat race is my ultimate fear in this life. I want a different 'normal' - whatever that may mean. Whenever I try to figure out exactly what that 'normal' means, I go back to Psalm 119:105 -

"Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path."

Everything is in God's hands and His timing is perfect. Despite what I think about time, it ultimately is up to Him. I want to pass my time, my life, in a way that serves and glorifies the Lord. So why am I so impatient all the time?! These are the kinds of questions I ponder as I procrastinate work...
