India Recap #6

Matthew 9:37 - "Then Jesus said to his disciples, 'The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.'"

Our week in Pune would not have been successful without Jose, pictured above with his wife Charlotte. A pastor from the church we were serving alongside, Jose, made sure we got where we needed to be, were well-fed, and comfortable. He was the epitome of a host! Jose and Charlotte also joined us for dinners throughout the week, so we got to know them personally. Hearing their testimony and all the work Jose does was inspiring.

Perhaps the most important part of our week in Pune was supporting and encouraging the church workers we encountered. India has so many needs - so many people desperate for a Savior. It was incredible to have the opportunity to work with those who are doing everything they can to bring hope and light to this nation.

These amazing people have dedicated their lives to helping others - from Jose and other pastors to Nirmala at the House of the Hope and Philomena at the Lighthouse. They don't have much themselves, but what little they have, they give. And continually give and give to anyone with a need. It must be physically and emotionally draining to work day in and day out in these areas, but these believers do it. They have answered what God has called them to do in a big way. Bringing them supplies and giving them respite from their work was the least our team could do.

Brad and I want to continue these relationships we've created. Not only do we hope to continue supporting the ministries, we want to continue supporting and encouraging the individuals who are making the ministries possible. Changes and solutions for India are not sustainable unless it is local - we met many local believers who are creating these changes and solutions. Please join us in praying for these workers and their ministries!
